DFC Company is a growing specialty contractor with three operating subsidiaries primarily involved in residential/commercial fence (Dakota Fence Company), highway signage and traffic control services (3D Specialties, Inc.), and commercial playground construction (Dakota Playground).  We provide services to home owners, commercial businesses and government entities.  Our dedicated employees (our “Blue Family”) work from four facilities throughout ND and provide construction services to five states with a much broader retail footprint. The Fargo Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the handling of inbound and outbound truckload freight. This position also responsible for coordinating material movement between the company’s branches in Fargo, Bismarck, Minot and Williston. This position works closely with Sales, Construction Coordinators, Yard Material Handlers, and the Sign & Fabrication Shops to make sure all material requests are met to complete Jobs / Sales Orders on time.

The principal job duties of this position are: 

·      Contacts various trucking companies for freight quotes for bidding purposes and material pick up.

·      Writes PO’s for freight purchases and works with Payables on invoice variances.

·      Gathers and confirms material requests between branches to make sure material is available.

·      Coordinates with Yard personnel, semi drivers, and material handlers to efficiently load and ship materials for outbound and intercompany shipments.

·      Distributes bill of ladings for shipped materials to all required individuals for intercompany shipments.

·      Makes inventory transfers between branches in the ERP system after material movement.

·      Assists Sales, Coordinators, and Inventory/ERP Manager with Quarterly Inventory.

·      Maintains a full understanding of fencing and traffic control materials.

·      Responds to questions related to timeframes for receipt of materials inbound and between branches.

·      Assists with material loading during overflow situations.

  • Performs various other functions as necessary.

Experience and skill requirements:

  • Organizational abilities to track multiple deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to suggest and implement process improvements. 
  • Self-motivation and desire to continually improve. 
  • Great computer software aptitude is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and have good public relations skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
